Erin Rachael Doherty (born 16 July 1992) is an English actress who portrayed the role of Jessie Marsh in Series 6, Episode 2 of Call the Midwife.

Early Life[]

Erin Rachael Doherty was born on 16 July 1992 in Crawley, West Sussex, England. She is of Irish heritage. Doherty's parents divorced when she was 4 years old. She has one brother, Matthew Doherty and one sister, Grace Doherty. She began acting in Sunday drama classes with her older sister, Grace shortly after her parents divorced. She studied at Hazelwick School in Crawley, where she grew up. Doherty took a one-year course at the Guildford School of Acting before training at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre.

In 2016, she played her first role as Jessie Marsh in Series 6, Episode 2 of Call the Midwife.

In 2018, she portrayed the role of Fabienne in the miniseries Les Misérables.

In 2019 to 2020, she played Princess Anne in the Netflix drama The Crown.

In 2022, she played the lead role of Becky in the series Chloe.

In 2023, she played Anne Askew a lead role in the psychological horror film Firebrand with Alicia Vikander and Jude Law.

In 2024, she played Clare in the British psychological thriller film Reawakening with Jared Harris and Juliet Stevenson.
