Maureen Warren was the eldest child of Conchita Warren, the eldest of 24 children.
Her mother was taken from Spain after the war, and because Conchita was pregnant at the time, she was allowed to enter the UK with her husband. Conchita speaks no English, and so Maureen is tasked with translating for the nurses. Maureen is a very practical, blunt young woman, and often takes the role of second in command to the other children, after Conchita herself. She is also very caring to her brothers and sisters.
