Ellen Rose O. Hudson (born 19 November 1990) is an English actress, author and musician who portrayed the role of Paulette Rolland in Series 4 episode 6 of Call the Midwife.

Early Life[]

Ellen Rose O. Hudson was born on 19 November 1990 in Worcester, Worcestershire, England and grew up on the Wyke Manor Estate in Wick near Pershore. She is the daughter of Charles Hudson, a petal farmer and Cressida Connolly, a journalist and author. She has one brother, Gabriel Charles More Hudson and one sister, Violet Isobel Connolly Hudson, who is a journalist. As a teenager, Hudson decided to pursue acting. She trained at the Oxford School of Drama, performing in plays such as The Crucible and Closer, eventually graduating with a degree in acting.

Career[]

Early in her career, she regularly featured in Tatler.

Hudson's first professional role, in 2012, was a guest spot in an episode of the fifteenth series of the BBC One medical drama Holby City. Later that year she appeared in Garrick Hamm's short film Cast Offs and director Bruce Logan's short Les Bohemes.

In 2014, she landed the role of Laoghaire MacKenzie in Starz's time travel drama Outlander.

In 2015, she appeared in an episode of popular period drama Call the Midwife as Paulette Rolland. That same year she guest starred in NBC's international crime drama Crossing Lines.

In 2016, she appeared in an episode of detective series Agatha Raisin.

From 2016 to 2019, she played Nancy Francatelli in ITV's period drama Victoria

In 2018, she portrayed the role of Charlotte Humphreys in the crime series Informer.

In 2022, she played a lead role in the film Texas Chainsaw Massacre. That same year she published her first novel called Just For Today.

In 2023, she portrayed the role of Clarissa Frost in the period drama The Doll Factory.

Personal Life[]

In 2019, she began dating Maximillian King, a film producer. They announced their engagement on March 6, 2024.
