Quotes[]

The religious life was not one that I could have chosen. To nurse is to be drawn into society, to interweave one's life with the business of strangers. It's about the world and flesh and what some people call the Devil. To balance that with the setting apart of the heart and the quiet, closed existence of the spirit would have been beyond me altogether. But others saw the joy in that and sought to live it out, sustained and inspired by those who'd heard the call before them.

Mature Jenny's opening narration.

Patrick: Nurse Crane, why did you request a pregnancy test for Paulette Rowland?

Phyllis: Because there's a boyfriend on the scene, and I know the difference between diabetes related nausea and morning sickness.

Patrick: Yes you do. The results came back positive.

Phyllis: Oh, Hell's teeth!

Patrick: Hell's teeth indeed. Diabetes and pregnancy are a very dangerous combination.
